Mechanical Engineer-OEM (Automotive)

Location: Cupertino, California, United States; onsite position. The role includes 20% travel to manufacturing partners and client sites.

What you will do

• Own the lifecycle of mechanical enclosures and structural components from concept validation through mass production.
• Coordinate technical requirements across design, procurement, sales, customers, suppliers, and factories.
• Assess mechanical feasibility, including Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly reviews.
• Coordinate suppliers and contract manufacturers for CNC machining, stamping, casting, metal forming, and surface finishing.
• Support RFQs, customer meetings, project scoping, pricing analysis, and business development activities.
• Lead or support new product introduction, production ramp-up, and factory readiness initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical product development or project engineering, preferably in OEM or consumer electronics manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with mass production processes such as CNC, stamping, casting, and surface treatment.
• Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Creo and a basic understanding of GD&T.
• Experience working with contract manufacturers and component suppliers across Asia.
• Bilingual Mandarin proficiency required; willingness to travel to manufacturing partners and client sites is required.
