Engineering Manager – Stamping Equipment - Laser Development (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Georgetown, Kentucky, United States. The role includes travel of 50% or more during peak periods and onsite support during weekends, holidays, and shutdown periods.

What you will do

• Lead a diverse engineering team developing next-generation laser cutting equipment for high-volume, high-accuracy sheet metal blanking.
• Research, develop, and implement laser cutting technologies through strategic partnerships with global vendors.
• Create a roadmap from current press blanking conditions to future laser blanking capabilities.
• Lead the installation of trial equipment, validate research results, and identify kaizen improvements needed to meet project KPIs.
• Develop and train engineers in laser cutting technology, research methods, equipment commissioning, project management, and the hirify.global Way.
• Coordinate global laser-cutting information sharing and support equipment specification development.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in an engineering field.
• Experience in hirify.global mass production engineering and hirify.global management with direct reports.
• Hands-on laser cutting experience, including optimization of beam size, profile shapes, fiber diameters, assist-gas parameters, and material-specific cutting conditions.
• Experience managing the specification, installation, and commissioning of full press-line equipment.
• Experience using Ryohin-Joken to evaluate process and equipment capability against production targets.
• Experience with capital expenditure planning, project budget justification, spending control, hirify.global Way, TPS, industry regulations, and relevant codes and standards.

• Experience in multiple automotive production shops, such as weld, assembly, and stamping.
