TL;DR
Assembly, Integration, and Test Intern (Aerospace) (Satellite Hardware): Designing, assembling, integrating, and testing satellite hardware and software with an accent on environmental testing, test equipment, and cross-functional engineering. Focus on developing test plans, executing thermal and vibration tests, processing test data with Python, and debugging hardware and software under time pressure.

Location: San Francisco; onsite 5 days a week

Base pay: $29 per hour

hirify.global designs, builds, and operates advanced high-orbit satellites and secure satellite communications networks from Northern California.

What you will do

  • Design, build, assemble, integrate, and test satellite hardware and software within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Work with electrical, mechanical, RF, and propulsion engineering teams to develop assembly and integration test plans and procedures.
  • Use thermal chambers, vibration tables, data acquisition systems, oscilloscopes, and other test instruments to execute test plans.
  • Coordinate assembly, integration, and environmental testing activities.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a four-year degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
  • Passion for hands-on hardware development in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft systems and operations.
  • U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status required due to U.S. government space technology export regulations.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and testing hardware.
  • Python experience for interfacing with test equipment, processing datasets, and visualizing data.
  • CAD experience and direct electrical or mechanical design experience.
  • Ability to debug hardware and software problems under time pressure.
