KABC Digital News Intern (Digital Media)

Location: Onsite in Glendale, California, United States, based in the Glendale newsroom. The internship runs from January 2027 through early June 2027 and requires 40 hours per week, including possible nights and weekends. Candidates must provide housing in the Glendale area and reliable transportation.

Salary: $18.47 per hour.

ABC7 is an ABC-owned television station producing local news, public affairs, magazine programs, and public service campaigns for the Los Angeles market.

What you will do

• Translate ABC7 news reports from English into Spanish for websites, apps, and social media.
• Coordinate on-air and online news coverage for Spanish-speaking audiences with the newsroom.
• Publish content across digital and social media platforms.
• Create social media assets using Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere.

Requirements

• Must be able to translate, write, and publish in both English and Spanish.
• Knowledge of AP Style and experience posting to social media platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, be at least 18 years old, and possess unrestricted work authorization in the United States.
• Must be available for a consistent 40-hour weekly schedule throughout the internship.

Nice to have

• Academic or internship experience in digital media or broadcast, print, or digital journalism.
• Experience with Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop.
• Coursework in producing, writing, or editing.
• Junior or senior year of study.
