Assistant Producer, Dateline

Location: New York, United States; hybrid schedule requiring work from the office at least four days per week

Salary: $26–$31 per hour

What you will do

• Review story submissions, respond to direct messages, monitor comments, and identify stories for potential pitches.
• Create and publish Dateline content across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
• Write episode recaps and articles for the “Cold Case Spotlight” and “Missing in America” series.
• Enter broadcast metadata, edit and archive full episodes, and maintain episode, restriction, and social content records.
• Assist with music cue sheets and interact live with followers during East Coast broadcasts.
• Collaborate with sales, analytics, marketing, product, and press teams to improve social campaigns and content.

Requirements

• At least one year of newsroom and reporting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Video editing experience and working knowledge of CMS systems.
• Knowledge of WildMoka, Premiere, and MPX systems.
• Strong multitasking, project coordination, organization, and attention to detail.
• Interest in criminal justice and the legal system.
