Assistant Producer (Digital Media)

Location: 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, United States. Hybrid schedule with office work required at least four days per week.

Salary: $26–$31 per hour

What you will do

• Review story submissions, respond to direct messages, monitor comments, and identify stories for potential pitches.
• Create, edit, publish, and archive Dateline content across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms.
• Write episode recaps and articles for the “Cold Case Spotlight” and “Missing in America” series.
• Input broadcast metadata, maintain episode and content-restriction records, and assist with music cue sheets.
• Interact with followers during East Coast broadcasts and apply Dateline’s editorial voice across social platforms.
• Collaborate with sales, analytics, marketing, product, and press teams to optimize campaigns and content.

Requirements

• At least one year of newsroom and reporting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Video editing experience and working knowledge of CMS systems.
• Knowledge of WildMoka, Premiere, and MPX systems.
• Strong multitasking, project coordination, organization, and attention to detail.
• Interest in criminal justice and the legal system.
