Director, Event Tech I - Hyatt Regency Schaumburg (Audio Visual)

Location: Schaumburg, Illinois, United States; onsite at a hotel/convention center environment. The role may require work at multiple hotel locations, irregular hours, on-call coverage, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: $47,635.00–$61,925.00 per year.

What you will do

• Manage revenue, profitability, labor, equipment rentals, billing, forecasts, and the location P&L.
• Build and maintain relationships with venue partners, clients, and internal stakeholders while supporting renewals and customer retention.
• Direct daily event operations, including scheduling, equipment setup, operation, strikes, inventory control, safety, and quality assurance.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for audiovisual equipment and software, including serving as the solo onsite technician when necessary.
• Develop event revenue strategies, prepare quotes and proposals, support site visits and planning meetings, and identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
• Lead, coach, train, and develop team members while managing performance, staffing, and employee concerns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of audiovisual experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
• At least 2 years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred; sales experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of audiovisual equipment in a live show environment and successful completion of Level 3 Skills training.
• Proficiency with computer hardware, software, the Internet, and Microsoft Office.
• Effective leadership and customer satisfaction skills; a valid driver’s license is required for team members operating company vehicles.
