Service Manager - Bay Apartments

Location: Onsite at Bay Apartments in San Diego, California, USA. Flexible schedule required, including weekends and participation in an on-call rotation.

Salary: USD 80,000–90,000 annually, plus a 15% target bonus opportunity and eligible monthly customer service satisfaction bonuses of up to USD 250.

What you will do

• Lead, develop, and hold accountable a maintenance team focused on safety, quality, and resident satisfaction.
• Direct service requests, preventive maintenance, apartment turns, vendor management, inventory, and building systems.
• Ensure maintenance work is completed on time, within budget, and according to quality and customer service standards.
• Manage maintenance expenses, optimize resources, and improve operational efficiency and asset performance.
• Partner with community leadership on capital projects, asset preservation, and long-term property goals.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in maintenance, facilities, building operations, or a similar service-focused environment.
• 3+ years of experience leading maintenance, facilities, or technical service teams.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance programs, and asset preservation.
• Experience managing budgets, vendors, inventory, and competing operational priorities.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the role.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
