Manufacturing Maintenance Technician (Biotech)

Location: Juncos, Puerto Rico, United States; onsite manufacturing role

Biotechnology company researching, manufacturing, and delivering medicines for serious illnesses across oncology, inflammation, general medicine, and rare disease.

What you will do

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, identify unusual conditions, and escalate complex issues.
• Set up, disassemble, handle, and change over equipment across shifts.
• Follow cGMPs, SOPs, safety procedures, and training requirements while completing documentation.
• Generate and complete corrective and preventive maintenance work orders.
• Coordinate with peers, shift leads, senior technicians, and supervisors to maintain operational continuity.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree and 2 years of maintenance experience; or 2 years in a technical school setting with hands-on experience; or a high school diploma/GED and 4 years of maintenance experience.
• Technical expertise in manufacturing equipment operations, process systems maintenance, and CIP/SIP procedures.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, including sensors, low-voltage components, and electronic units.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience with aseptic filling equipment, washers, autoclaves, isolators, debaggers, ebeam systems, fillers, robotic systems, conveyors, and related cleaning systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant computer applications.

Nice to have

• Experience in GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device environments.
• Experience with alignment tools and aseptic techniques.
