Materials Supervisor (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Normal, United States; onsite role

Salary: $70,700–$105,800 per year

What you will do

• Coordinate material control systems, inbound and outbound shipments, receiving, customs compliance, and inventory control from the shop floor.
• Coordinate material handlers, warehouse layout, outside warehouse activities, trailer replenishment, and truckload utilization tracking.
• Manage cycle counting, pull systems, supplier reconciliation, visual inventory standards, and production build schedule coordination.
• Train, coach, and develop the material handling team while serving as a liaison between Materials and Production.
• Monitor compliance with quality, safety, environmental, 5S, and production/materials standards, including non-conforming product control.
• Participate in HSE&E investigations and the 8D process, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of materials supervision experience in manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and formal problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
• Proficiency with ERP systems; QAD is preferred.
• Ability to ensure compliance with assigned material-area safety procedures and standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with JIT automotive sequencing.
• Experience with QAD ERP.
