Material Planner (Automotive)

Salary: $90,000–$140,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Develop and optimize material supply plans aligned with customer demand, production capacity, and inventory targets.
• Lead the MRP process, validate supplier plans, and coordinate material, component, and sub-assembly deliveries.
• Work with logistics specialists to convert supply plans into cost-efficient transportation plans.
• Monitor inventory levels, usage patterns, stock-outs, excess inventory, and inventory turnover using ERP and inventory management systems.
• Manage supplier performance, escalate delivery deviations, and support cycle counting and inventory discrepancy resolution.
• Drive contingency planning, lean manufacturing initiatives, process improvements, and cross-functional supply chain projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations management, business administration, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in material planning, production scheduling, or supply chain management within automotive or manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle and advanced Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables.
• Experience in engineering change management or new product introduction is required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills.
