Materials Management Supervisor (Defense Manufacturing)

Location: Torrance, California, United States; onsite work in warehouse and production environments

What you will do

• Lead and develop the Materials Management organization across Inventory, Shipping, and Receiving.
• Own receiving, inventory control, shipping, staging, kitting, replenishment, transfers, and production material support.
• Establish standard work, operating procedures, KPIs, warehouse layouts, storage strategies, and scalable material-flow processes.
• Maintain accurate physical and system inventory, including cycle counts, reconciliation, traceability, lot and serial control, FIFO, and shelf-life requirements.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain to resolve shortages, discrepancies, nonconforming materials, and transportation constraints.
• Ensure safe, organized, audit-ready operations and compliance with quality, export-control, government-property, transportation, and company requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in materials management, inventory control, warehouse operations, manufacturing logistics, shipping and receiving, or supply chain operations.
• 3+ years of direct people-management experience leading materials, inventory, shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or production teams.
• Experience operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and building operational processes, standard work, and performance metrics.
• Hands-on experience with ERP, MRP, MES, or WMS systems and material traceability, reconciliation, cycle counting, shipping, and receiving.
• Ability to work hands-on in warehouse and production environments and lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
• U.S. citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, manufacturing, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, space, automotive, or other regulated advanced manufacturing environments.
• Experience with serialized, lot-controlled, shelf-life-controlled, hazardous, energetic, or otherwise controlled materials.
• Knowledge of AS9100, government property requirements, Lean manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or inventory and quality audits.
• Forklift certification and experience with material-handling equipment.
