Materials & MRO Inventory Supervisor II (MRO)

Location: Onsite in Detroit, Michigan, United States; applicants must be able to work in or relocate to Detroit. Relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $104,000–$133,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Own MRO materials and ensure uninterrupted availability for maintenance, production, facilities, tooling, and logistics operations.
• Develop inventory strategies, reorder points, safety stock levels, min/max parameters, and replenishment plans.
• Improve inventory accuracy, valuation, traceability, material master data, and governance through cycle counts, audits, and corrective actions.
• Manage MRO suppliers and service providers, monitoring service levels, fill rates, responsiveness, cost performance, and contractual compliance.
• Partner with purchasing, finance, maintenance, manufacturing, logistics, safety, and engineering teams on sourcing, budgeting, forecasting, and working capital optimization.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management, material flow, warehouse processes, spare parts, safety, and operational reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, operations management, business, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 5–7 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing operations, maintenance support, or materials management.
• Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, maintenance, or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of MRO inventory management, material planning, inventory control, maintenance, machining, assembly, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and service provider performance.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States; visa sponsorship and applications from existing visa holders are not accepted.

Nice to have

• APICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP, or an equivalent supply chain certification.
• Experience with MAXIMO, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent ERP and inventory management platforms.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, inventory optimization, spare parts management, and maintenance reliability.
• Experience managing large-scale MRO inventories in manufacturing.
