Sr UX Designer (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; hybrid or office environment

Estimated starting salary: $124,771.42–$171,560.71 per year, plus performance-based annual incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end UX/UI design, including research, wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity visual design for web, mobile, and command-line applications.
• Develop design strategy and information architecture across the product suite.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define goals, deliverables, and implementation requirements.
• Ensure interfaces follow brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and platform conventions.
• Conduct user research and usability testing, translating findings into design decisions.
• Lead designers, provide mentorship, manage multiple projects, and maintain a shared design system and component library.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience; 6+ years of related experience is required, or 10 years without a degree.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating UX/UI work, including flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
• Experience with Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD; user research and usability testing; responsive design; and WCAG accessibility standards.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, protected individuals, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations.

Nice to have

• Aerospace and defense industry experience.
• Experience designing command-line or terminal interfaces, developer tools, desktop applications, web, and mobile products.
• Experience building design systems and component libraries across multiple platforms.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, React, Electron, and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience with web and print design, video/audio editing, or 2D animation.
