Senior UI/UX Designer (React)

Location: Hybrid in Columbia, Maryland, United States; 10% travel required

Salary: $79,000–$110,000 per year

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end UI/UX design process, from research, concepts, and wireframes to high-fidelity Figma designs, prototypes, and developer handoff.
• Define design direction and create scalable Figma component libraries, reusable assets, style guides, and process documentation.
• Develop and maintain corresponding UI components in React in partnership with engineering.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to prioritize design work against the roadmap and communicate design rationale.
• Conduct market research, competitive analysis, user interviews, surveys, and usability studies to validate designs and identify improvements.
• Review implemented features for design fidelity and mentor team members on design quality.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required.
• 6+ years of UI/UX design experience and a strong portfolio covering complex software products.
• Expert-level Figma skills, including component libraries, auto-layout, variants, and prototyping.
• Familiarity with React and Vue.js, including designing components and assets for component-based frontend frameworks.
• Experience with user research, usability testing, scalable design systems, visual design fundamentals, and cross-functional design communication.
• Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience designing complex, data-dense interfaces for technical or enterprise users.
• Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
• Experience in security-focused, government, or compliance-heavy environments.
• Experience using AI design tools such as Claude Design or Google Stitch.
• Agile experience with Jira and Confluence; an active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
