Process Engineer III - Plasma

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; onsite role with 10% travel. Relocation eligible.

Salary: $124,000–$171,000 per year

What you will do

• Design experiments, collect and analyze data, and prepare technical reports.
• Characterize hardware systems and measure thin-film properties.
• Troubleshoot complex process engineering issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions.
• Develop plasma processes and support new technologies, products, and analytical instrumentation.
• Communicate with customers and resolve process engineering concerns with limited supervision.
• Partner with vendors and suppliers, support junior colleagues, and lead project teams as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of semiconductor plasma process engineering experience in an R&D or high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Expertise in plasma physics, RF power systems, chamber matching, process optimization, and thin-film deposition or etch applications.
• Experience developing new plasma processes, analyzing complex datasets, and driving technology roadmaps from concept through qualification.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; PhD preferred.
• Demonstrated conceptual and practical expertise in complex problem solving.
