Graphite Production Lead (CNC)

Location: Torrance, California, United States; onsite manufacturing role

Salary: $100,000–$140,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead, schedule, mentor, and develop CNC programmers and machinists focused on graphite production.
• Own tooling, consumables, production priorities, and schedules for graphite machining.
• Review and refine CNC programs and toolpaths using ESPRIT EDGE, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software.
• Maintain dust collection, ventilation, PPE, and safe handling practices for abrasive graphite materials.
• Partner with Engineering and QC on design-for-manufacturability feedback and first-article inspections.
• Drive 5S, continuous improvement, quality standards, hiring, training, and performance reviews.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of CNC machining or programming experience, including graphite or other abrasive materials.
• At least 3 years leading or supervising a machining or production team.
• Proficiency with CAM software for mills and/or lathes, such as ESPRIT EDGE or Fusion 360.
• Strong knowledge of tooling wear, feeds and speeds, work-holding strategies, engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models.
• Familiarity with dust collection, ventilation, and safety protocols for particulate-generating machining operations.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Nice to have

• Experience machining nuclear-grade or high-purity graphite.
• Experience with in-machine probing, automation, lights-out programming, or 5-axis programming.
• Experience establishing new machining processes or production lines from scratch.
