Tooling Engineer (Nuclear)

Salary: $105,000–$130,000 per year, plus equity

hirify.global is a startup developing mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors, including the 1-megawatt Kaleidos reactor for hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases.

What you will do

• Partner with design and manufacturing engineers to develop production tooling for complex mechanisms and structures.
• Design, analyze, and fabricate tooling for semi-remote reactor fueling and defueling operations.
• Develop suppliers for tooling components and fabrication.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Graduation in December 2026 or Spring 2027.
• Understanding of hand-calculation methods and finite element-based analysis.
• Experience with custom machine design and electromechanical systems, including motors, actuators, linear rails, bearings, and lifting or rigging equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, written, oral communication, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work on-site in El Segundo, California.
