What you will do

• Manage supplier tooling programs across injection-molded plastics, soft trim, and other commodity groups from tool award through production runoff and PPAP approval.
• Track tooling build status, milestone adherence, asset records, and launch readiness.
• Conduct tool trials and first article inspections, and evaluate dimensional, process capability, and capacity data from tool-sourced parts.
• Drive corrective actions for tooling-related dimensional, cosmetic, and process capability non-conformances.
• Coordinate engineering changes at the tool level and partner with Purchasing and Program Management to protect tooling budgets and timing.
• Mentor SQEs on tooling evaluation methods and supplier engagement strategies.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent working-level experience.
• 8+ years of experience in supplier tooling, tool engineering, or supplier quality in automotive or high-volume manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with mold, die, and fixture design, construction, and runoff, including injection-molded plastics.
• Ability to identify tooling root causes and drive corrective action using 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa methods.
• Proficiency in GD&T, tool drawings, mold and die design prints, CMM data, dimensional reports, Cpk, Ppk, and Gauge R&R.
• Ability to manage multiple tooling programs, communicate risks clearly, and hold suppliers accountable in a fast-paced launch environment.
