Residential Energy Auditor (Energy Efficiency)

Location: Wilmington, Delaware, United States. Field-based work from home with local travel required; travel within the assigned territory is required 50%–85% of the time. A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license are required.

Salary: $55,000–$65,000 anticipated base salary. Full-time pay range: $45,785–$77,835.

What you will do

• Perform on-site residential energy audits and install light energy-saving measures.
• Inspect insulation, HVAC systems, lighting, and appliances for efficiency and safety.
• Collect and analyze utility data to establish baseline energy usage.
• Prepare audit reports with energy-saving recommendations and estimated cost-benefit analysis.
• Educate homeowners and property managers about energy efficiency practices and available incentives.
• Coordinate with contractors and QA/QC inspectors while ensuring compliance with energy codes and program guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in residential or commercial energy auditing, building performance, or energy-efficiency-focused construction.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and energy-modeling software, including Blower Door, Combustion Analyzer, infrared camera, and flow meters.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel within the assigned territory.
• BPI BA-T and BA-P certifications, or willingness to obtain them within 90 days.

• BPI QCI certification.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
