Building Engineer II

Location: On-site commercial property maintenance role in the United States; the company operates offices across Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, and Arizona.

What you will do

• Support preventive maintenance programs and perform scheduled inspections, maintenance, and repairs across the property portfolio.
• Inspect mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, security, fire, and life-safety systems and document required follow-up.
• Respond to tenant service requests and resolve issues within the scope of held licenses.
• Coordinate with property managers, chief engineers, clients, coworkers, and contracted vendors.
• Review and monitor vendor service scopes, support service specifications, and contribute to operating and capital budgeting.
• Maintain a safe, clean, professional property environment while following safety procedures and reporting hazards or accidents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, automobile liability insurance, and eligibility for coverage by the company insurer.
• 5–7 years of experience in commercial building maintenance or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience using relevant computer hardware and software, including HVAC, security, Microsoft Office, work order systems, and smartphones.
• Working knowledge of typical office building systems, including mechanical, fire and life safety, electrical, HVAC, security, and plumbing systems.
• Strong communication, organization, troubleshooting, customer service, and problem-solving skills; demonstrated ability to speak, write, and understand English.
• Availability for overtime and on-call work, dependable transportation for tools and equipment, and ability to perform active physical work including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, crawling, and lifting.
