TL;DR
PIR Case Management Specialist (Refugee and Immigrant Services): Providing trauma-informed case management and resettlement support for refugees and qualified immigrants with an accent on housing, healthcare, public benefits, transportation, and self-sufficiency planning. Focus on coordinating pre- and post-arrival services, tracking client progress, documenting interactions, and building partnerships with community providers.

Location: Spokane, Washington, USA; hybrid remote, office, and field work with occasional evening or weekend outreach events.

Pay rate: $23–$25 per hour.

What you will do

  • Provide case management across the PIR and Home ARP programs, allocating approximately 70% of time to PIR clients and 30% to Home ARP clients.
  • Coordinate pre- and post-arrival services, including airport pickup, housing, food, medical care, transportation, and orientation.
  • Conduct client intakes, assess needs, and create individualized self-sufficiency plans and SMART goals.
  • Support access to housing, public benefits, direct financial assistance, medical and mental health services, and other community resources.
  • Monitor client progress, maintain required documentation in ETO, and support reporting and data tracking.
  • Build relationships with service providers, landlords, partner organizations, volunteers, and interns; travel using a personal insured vehicle when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with refugee or immigrant populations strongly preferred, plus 1–3 years of administrative experience.
  • Strong relationship-building, diplomacy, networking, problem-solving, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Professional spoken and written English; professional proficiency in relevant languages such as Marshallese or Spanish is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle required.

Nice to have

  • Professional proficiency in Marshallese, Spanish, or another relevant language.
  • Experience working with refugee and immigrant communities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related discipline.
