Field Quality Engineer Vehicle Systems and Integration (EV)

Location: Sturgis, Michigan, or Loudon, Tennessee, United States; field work and travel to customer sites as needed.

What you will do

• Diagnose complex systemic issues across mechanical, electrical, and software vehicle systems.
• Investigate fault codes, structural fatigue points, and other field reliability problems.
• Use predictive reliability analysis and statistical tools to identify potential fleet failure modes.
• Manage and analyze field performance data, maintaining the feedback loop into engineering sprints.
• Partner with hardware, software, Service, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams on reliability growth, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Translate technical findings into concise leadership reports and actionable engineering tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Reliability Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3–10 years of experience in Field Quality, Reliability Engineering, or highly technical Service Engineering within the EV or automotive industry.
• Experience troubleshooting chassis and drivetrain systems, high-voltage electrical architectures, wiring harnesses, CAN bus communication, and over-the-air updates.
• Strong proficiency with SQL, Python, or specialized business intelligence platforms.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and CANalyzer or CANoe.
• Comfort working in the field, under vehicles, and in laboratory settings; willingness to travel to customer sites.
