Sr. Category Merchant - Paper and Household Goods

Location: Hybrid role based at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts, United States. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office; Monday and Friday are remote.

Salary: $128,500–$164,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage paper and household goods categories, driving growth, profitability, inventory performance, and customer experience.
• Develop category strategies, product assortments, annual merchandise plans, sales plans, margin plans, and forecasts.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with new, existing, and prospective vendors while building strong vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with pricing, marketing, vendors, and cross-functional teams on pricing, promotions, campaigns, and strategy execution.
• Evaluate merchandising performance, respond to business changes, capitalize on opportunities, and mitigate risks.
• Lead, train, and develop the merchandise team through actionable feedback and professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, operations, or a related field; an MBA is optional.
• 7+ years of related merchandising or category management experience.
• Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proven decision-making ability.
• Ability to work in a hybrid schedule with required in-office days in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
