Category Manager, Global Indirect Sourcing - Libertyville, IL

Location: Libertyville, Illinois, United States; onsite requirement of 4 days in the office weekly

Salary: $95,000–$145,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and execute category strategies for complex and high-impact indirect spend categories.
• Lead sourcing activities, including demand analysis, supplier segmentation, market assessment, RFx events, negotiations, award recommendations, and implementation planning.
• Partner with global and cross-functional stakeholders on budgets, operational requirements, service expectations, innovation, and risk.
• Lead commercial evaluations, contract development, approvals, supplier transitions, and implementation activities.
• Manage supplier governance through performance reviews, issue escalation, corrective action plans, relationship development, and continuous improvement.
• Present business cases, sourcing recommendations, category updates, supplier insights, and value delivery results; mentor procurement professionals and project team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 8–12 years of related experience, or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, procurement, finance, or a related discipline with at least 8 years of experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with at least 6 years of experience.
• Experience developing and executing complex category strategies and leading supplier negotiations and governance.
• Strong knowledge of procurement policy, contracting, supplier risk, total cost analysis, and P2P processes.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and supporting cross-functional or global initiatives.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate with internal and external stakeholders, and work onsite in Libertyville four days per week.
