What you will do

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses including General Biology, Microbiology, and Applied Microbiology.
• Develop and lead a microbiology research program involving undergraduate and graduate students.
• Attract and secure extramural funding, publish in genuine peer-reviewed journals, and attend professional meetings.
• Advise students on degree plans, course scheduling, premedical programs, and other academic matters.
• Recruit students and contribute to institutional, academic, and community service.
• Develop and deliver effective educational programs for the community.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Biology or a related field from an accredited institution; ABD candidates are not considered.
• Demonstrated teaching excellence in biology and microbiology-related courses.
• Willingness to teach 9 adjusted contact hours per semester in a full-time, nine-month position.
• Research competency demonstrated through publications in genuine peer-reviewed journals.
• Experience seeking or obtaining funding, with documentation of awards and amounts.
• Excellent quantitative, computer, written, and oral communication skills.

• Experience instructing and mentoring student research.
• Experience leading or supporting pre-medical and pre-healthcare advising programs.
• Leadership, mentoring, teamwork, and collaborative research experience.
• Experience collaborating with scientists, research centers, agencies, or organizations.
