Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science (American Politics)

What you will do

• Teach undergraduate courses across the Political Science curriculum with a normal teaching load of 4-4.
• Teach American government and state and local government, with an emphasis on Texas.
• Contribute to courses including introduction to political science, Mexican American politics, research methods, and the senior capstone.
• Teach classes in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats across various class sizes.
• Mentor students and contribute to the department’s teaching mission.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Political Science or a closely related discipline from an accredited university; advanced ABD candidates may be considered, but the degree must be conferred at appointment.
• Ability to teach American government, Texas and local government, introduction to political science, research methods, and senior capstone courses.
• Ability to teach in classroom, hybrid, and online formats and across different class sizes.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentoring.
