Assistant Professor, Kinesiology - Athletic Training

What you will do

• Teach master’s-level athletic training courses and undergraduate kinesiology courses.
• Support compliance with CAATE accreditation standards and assist with CAATE, SACS-COC, and university accreditation reports.
• Advise, mentor, and supervise research for students in the Master of Science in Athletic Training program.
• Support recruitment, selection, and retention activities for the MSAT program.
• Maintain an active program of scholarship and creative activity.
• Provide service to the university, community, and athletic training profession.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in athletic training, exercise science, kinesiology, curriculum and instruction, or a related field; advanced ABD candidates may be considered, with the degree required by appointment.
• Active scholarship record with publications, ongoing research, or potential for scholarly and creative activity.
• Teaching experience or demonstrated interest in athletic training or a related field.
• Current Board of Certification certification and National Athletic Trainers’ Association membership.
• Proof of an NPI number with the appropriate healthcare field designation.
• Eligibility for Texas athletic trainer licensure or a current Texas athletic trainer license, plus documented clinical athletic training experience.

Nice to have

• Fundable scholarship, grant experience, or prior teaching in a CAATE-accredited athletic training program.
• Experience with CAATE accreditation, CAATE requirements, or BOC Approved Provider status.
• Strong organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Global competency and experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
• CPR/AED/First Aid Professional Rescuer Instructor or BLS Instructor certification.
