EHS/OSHA Instructor - COAST/TRAIN (OSHA)

Location: Telecommuter position based in Brownsville or Corpus Christi, Texas; applicants must reside in one of the specified Texas counties: Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Cameron, Duval, Hidalgo, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, Starr, or Willacy. Course facilitation takes place at COAST in Corpus Christi and RAM in Brownsville.

Salary: $5,833.34 per month

Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service provides emergency response training, workforce training, technical assistance, infrastructure and safety programs, and other professional training services.

What you will do

• Deliver environmental, health, and safety courses through TEEX workforce development programs.
• Present course topics and conduct demonstrations using teaching aids.
• Coordinate EHS program course activities for assigned training programs.
• Apply adult learning theories and varied learning styles to improve learner success.
• Support training at the Coastal Bend Occupational Advanced Skills Training center and the RGV Advanced Manufacturing Hub.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five years of related environmental, health, and safety experience in construction or general industry.
• Two years of adult education or training experience, including knowledge of training concepts and programs.
• OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer certification through OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 501.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
• Valid passport, or ability to obtain one within 180 days of employment.
