Instructional Assistant Professor of Geology

What you will do

• Teach geology and earth science lecture and laboratory courses, including University core curriculum courses.
• Contribute to Civil Engineering instruction in Hydraulics and Hydrology.
• Provide GIS-related instruction in Systems Engineering and support other School programs as needed.
• Advise and mentor students and contribute to curriculum development, assessment, recruitment, and accreditation.
• Support instructional laboratories and participate in School service.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Geology, Geosciences, Earth Science, or a closely related discipline by the appointment start date.
• Academic preparation suitable for teaching geology and earth science lecture and laboratory courses.
• Experience or preparation in hydrology, water resources, environmental geology, GIS, remote sensing, or geospatial analysis is desirable.
• Experience in laboratory or field-based instruction, curriculum development, student mentoring, or interdisciplinary teaching is desirable.
• Face-to-face work with a regular attendance schedule on campus is required.

• Teaching experience supporting engineering curricula.
• Experience with laboratory or field-based instruction.
