Water Specialty Engineer

Location: London or Guelph, Ontario, Canada; field work across Ontario

Compensation: CAD 25.00–30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Complete daily and occasional construction project inspections, including reporting and documentation.
• Travel across Ontario for field work and complete topographic and as-built surveys.
• Prepare base plans and provide drafting and design support using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Coordinate with drafting and GIS staff to prepare report figures and engineering design drawings.
• Analyze and interpret data for hydrologic and hydraulic assessments.
• Assist with proposals, technical reports, specifications, engineering designs, and cost estimates.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Water Resources Engineering.
• Eligibility for registration as an Engineer in Training with Professional Engineers Ontario.
• Basic understanding of open-channel and pipe-flow hydraulics, stormwater management system design, and river engineering.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Valid Class G driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors, travel across Ontario, and perform physical activities including lifting over 20 pounds.

Nice to have

• One to three years of consulting experience or relevant pre-graduation or co-op experience.
• Experience working safely on active construction sites.
• Experience with SWMM, PC SWMM, River2D, MIKE FLOOD, MIKE URBAN, HEC-RAS, DAMBRK, Culvert Master, MIKE SHE, or HEC-HMS.
