Intermediate Water Resources Engineer

Location: Remote within Canada, with listed locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Saskatoon, and Whitehorse.

Salary: CAD 90,000–140,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop conceptual, analytical, and numerical models for hydrology, hydraulics, water balance, and water quality.
• Build and maintain mine water balance models covering operations, treatment requirements, closure, and long-term care scenarios.
• Analyze water resources data using coding, scripting, GIS, and modelling platforms such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, DELFT3D, and GoldSim.
• Prepare design documents, specifications, drawings, calculations, technical reports, and project deliverables.
• Support permitting, environmental assessments, regulatory compliance, proposals, project estimating, and client communications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, liaise with clients and regulators, and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources Engineering, or a related engineering or scientific discipline.
• 4–6 years of relevant water resources experience.
• Experience managing large datasets, analyzing water resources data, and assessing model projections.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant business software.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently, lead projects, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in a relevant discipline.
• Experience with Python, R, GIS, and applicable water resources modelling platforms.
