Commercial Underwriter - Renewable Energy

Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, United States

Salary: $109,300–$180,200 annual base salary, plus performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned renewable energy insurance portfolio.
• Underwrite and negotiate customer accounts in line with risk appetite and profitability objectives.
• Build relationships with agents, brokers, and internal partners to develop sales and cross-selling opportunities.
• Market and sell insurance products through regular in-person meetings with agents and brokers, including travel to those meetings.
• Identify new business opportunities and develop agency and regional sales plans.
• Support training and mentoring for less experienced Account Executives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least four years of experience in underwriting, claims, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance.
• Six to eight years of relevant underwriting experience, including renewable energy experience, preferred for the ideal candidate.
• Deep knowledge of renewable energy products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• CPCU designation.
