Underwriter II (Insurance)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States; up to 10% travel required

What you will do

• Analyze applications, websites, claims histories, and file notes to assess the acceptability of intermediate risks.
• Obtain, order, and evaluate supplemental underwriting information from agents and other sources.
• Underwrite and price exposures according to approved rates, guidelines, and policy terms.
• Recommend and bind coverage, complete invoicing and policy issuance, and track renewals, cancellations, and notices.
• Analyze endorsement requests and coordinate risk assessments with the underwriting team.
• Communicate with brokers, carriers, and clients while supporting underwriting policies and procedures.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of underwriting experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Property & Casualty and/or appropriate business licensure for direct client service and underwriting.
• Broad knowledge of the insurance industry, strong mathematical, analytical, research, organizational, and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and company systems.
• Ability to travel 10% of the time.
