What you will do

• Evaluate and select risks within assigned authority limits to support profitable new business acquisition and retention.
• Consult with sales and service partners, brokers, and internal stakeholders on products and plan options.
• Conduct risk assessments, analyze trends, and recommend actions to meet business guidelines, profit targets, and performance metrics.
• Contribute to policies and procedures supporting product development initiatives.
• Serve as a technical resource for junior underwriters and provide developmental feedback.
• Mentor and coach underwriters while influencing organizational change and profitable results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant business experience.
• Consistent proficiency at the Senior Underwriter level.
• Mastery of product provisions, plan designs, pricing, and contractual benefits.
• Advanced expertise in risk selection, sales and distribution processes, and market trends.
• Strong analytical reasoning, creative problem-solving, communication, organizational, negotiation, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining ownership of results.
