Software Java Developer – Platform & Emerging Technologies (AI)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The role may require in-person onboarding and/or in-person identity verification.

Salary: CAD 88,000–128,700 annual base salary for Canada-based roles. Offers may exceed this range based on experience and geographic location.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Java software solutions.
• Build and evolve scalable cloud services, APIs, backend services, SaaS platforms, and data capabilities.
• Improve platform reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
• Develop automated tests, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot production issues.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, architects, and engineers in an Agile environment.
• Learn and apply cloud-native engineering practices and emerging AI technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–5 years of software development experience; the French version specifies 3–5 years.
• Good knowledge of Java, object-oriented programming, software fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot, APIs, web services, and relational or NoSQL databases.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and learning skills.
• Ability to work from the Toronto, Ontario, Canada location.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java and Spring Boot through academic, personal, internship, or professional projects.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms, REST APIs, distributed systems, Git, and automated testing.
• Interest in data platforms, artificial intelligence, cloud-native technologies, or open-source projects.
