Salary: $154,000–$243,600 CAD base salary per year

What you will do

• Define, lead, and contribute to the evolution of hirify.globalsearch’s core search and indexing capabilities.
• Provide technical vision and direction for indexing, retrieval, relevance, and query execution infrastructure.
• Research search infrastructure, data structures, and retrieval algorithms to improve platform efficiency and power.
• Shape the long-term technical roadmap with partner and product teams.
• Guide projects from technical design through implementation and collaborate with distributed engineering teams.
• Mentor expert engineers and serve as a domain authority across key hirify.globalsearch areas.

Requirements

• Experience leading technical projects involving search infrastructure, distributed systems, and high-performance software.
• Hands-on experience with hirify.globalsearch, Lucene, Solr, or comparable large-scale search and distributed storage systems.
• Strong Java skills, including advanced data structures, concurrency constructs, lambdas, and algorithm optimization.
• Experience defining long-term technical vision for core search or retrieval systems across teams and organizations.
• Experience mentoring expert engineers and working autonomously from concept to completion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience building with hirify.globalsearch and understanding search and information retrieval theory.
• Experience with open-source projects, source-control workflows, and continuous integration.
