Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer (Contract Role)

Location: Hybrid role in Madison, Wisconsin, United States; in-person meetings may sometimes be required, with flexible work from home.

Salary: $85.20–$127.82 USD per hour

What you will do

• Develop, test, document, and maintain business-critical JavaScript applications for consoles, web, mobile, and future devices.
• Build digital commerce solutions for games, media content, and subscription services.
• Work with product owners and managers to define requirements and technical solutions.
• Write unit and component tests, review pull requests and designs, and improve engineering standards.
• Define technical approaches for performance, accessibility, scalability, and responsive design.
• Deploy releases through CI/CD pipelines, monitor telemetry, and adapt solutions to production data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• 5+ years of building product experiences with UI technologies.
• Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to robust, sustainable, high-quality code.
• Ability to produce detailed design and development documentation.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Madison, Wisconsin, with occasional in-person meetings.

Nice to have

• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, Jest, and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with GraphQL, REST APIs, Docker, and multi-platform CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive design.
• Curiosity about AI-assisted development tools and developer-efficiency automation.
