Senior Software Engineer (C++) - Sensor Pipelines (Automotive)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA; Palo Alto, CA; or Detroit, MI, United States

Base salary: $179,200–$268,800 per year in California, depending on location, experience, education, training, and skills.

What you will do

• Develop safe and efficient embedded software for radar and lidar sensors.
• Produce high-quality, maintainable C++ code for resource-constrained environments.
• Design, implement, and test high-performance sensor software.
• Develop solutions aligned with functional safety standards.
• Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers and external suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; equivalent master’s or PhD pathways are accepted.
• 4+ years of experience developing embedded applications and systems using C++.
• Knowledge of network communication concepts, including protocols, physical-layer requirements, bandwidth characteristics, and configuration.
• Experience with multi-processor SoCs or comparable embedded processors.
• Strong software design, algorithm, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with FreeRTOS, SafeRTOS, and/or Embedded Linux.
• Experience developing software for complex, safety-critical sensing systems.
• Experience with network-based radar or lidar sensors.
• Technical leadership experience taking automotive products into production.
