Senior Specialist, Software Engineering (Embedded Systems)

What you will do

• Develop foundational embedded real-time software using VxWorks, Linux, and other operating systems.
• Define operational performance requirements and integrate software and hardware components with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and formal testing throughout the software development life cycle.
• Create software test plans, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Participate in peer reviews and identify, track, and repair software defects.
• Provide occasional customer support travel, approximately 5%.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and at least 4 years of related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience developing embedded real-time software with VxWorks or Linux.
• Knowledge of programming languages, compilers, application execution, and software development across Windows, Linux, and embedded real-time operating systems.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Nice to have

• Advanced C++ proficiency and modern object-oriented design experience.
• High-performance, multi-threaded programming and RTOS development on embedded targets.
• Knowledge of signal processing, control systems theory, or networking fundamentals.
• Experience with IP, UDP, TCP, IPSec, DDS, or SNMP protocols.
• Previous experience in the Department of Defense or intelligence community.
