Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++)

Location: Onsite in Carlsbad, California; Marlborough, Massachusetts; Linthicum Heights, Maryland; or Tampa, Florida

Salary: $140,500–$221,500 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $174,000–$261,000 annually.

What you will do

• Develop embedded software in C and C++ for encrypted communications systems.
• Build software for Layer 2 and Layer 3 inline network encryptors, embedded cryptographic devices, and emerging cryptographic solutions.
• Develop standalone embedded applications, Linux-based software, and RESTCONF interfaces.
• Design and modify Linux kernel and bare-metal device drivers for embedded processors.
• Implement and work with TCP/IP, IPSec, MACsec, TLS, and other networking protocols.
• Develop, test, and certify a next-generation high-speed encryptor for government enterprise networks while collaborating with systems, test, and hardware engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and implementing embedded software in C/C++.
• At least 2 years of Linux experience, preferably in an embedded environment.
• Experience with Rust, object-oriented software development, Agile Scrum, and CI/CD.
• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret or higher security clearance are required.
• Ability to travel up to 10% and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Nice to have

• Experience with Linux kernel drivers, bare-metal embedded drivers, and NIOS, ARM, or RISC-V processors.
• Experience with RESTCONF, emulation environments, standalone embedded applications, and networking protocols.
• Experience with Python and participation in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
