What you will do
- Design, implement, and maintain deterministic embedded firmware for EV motor control systems in bare-metal and RTOS environments.
- Configure and optimize vendor Board Support Packages and develop low-level hardware drivers.
- Deploy, tune, and optimize motor control algorithms, including high-frequency Field-Oriented Control.
- Improve CPU efficiency, interrupt latency, memory usage, performance, and safety.
- Test, debug, and validate firmware using real-time simulation and Hardware-in-the-Loop environments.
- Integrate firmware with hardware, application software, and power electronics, while maintaining technical documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- 3+ years of professional embedded firmware development experience.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ for resource-constrained embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers or equivalent platforms.
- Understanding of motor control algorithms, digital signal processing, control theory, and PID tuning.
- Familiarity with CAN, SPI, I2C, and UART, plus oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering focused on control systems.
- Experience developing firmware for EV powertrains or automotive motor controls.
- Experience with sensorless control, complex timer units, eTPU, or GTM peripherals.
- Experience setting up and running Hardware-in-the-Loop testing environments.
