What you will do

• Lead requirements conversations with business and technical stakeholders and define appropriate technical approaches.
• Design and build complete AI-enabled capabilities, including prompts, retrieval, structured outputs, tools, APIs, data handling, error states, and user interfaces.
• Define evaluation sets, success metrics, review thresholds, and deployment criteria using real-world data.
• Make architecture decisions while balancing quality, cost, latency, security, and authorization constraints.
• Operationalize solutions in client environments with governance, logging, traceability, monitoring, and drift management.
• Support clients, mentor engineers, maintain current AI knowledge, and create reusable patterns and documentation.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building and shipping production software.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience building applications with large language models, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, structured extraction, tool use, and agent patterns.
• Strong programming ability in Python, TypeScript, SQL, or another general-purpose language across the full application.
• Experience evaluating AI system quality through test sets, metrics, and evidence-based deployment decisions.
• Ability to lead requirements discussions, work independently through ambiguity, and explain technical tradeoffs to engineers and executives.
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain required federal background investigations, suitability determinations, or security clearances.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with Appian, OutSystems, Mendix, Microsoft Power Platform, ServiceNow, Salesforce, or another low-code platform.
• Public-sector or regulated-industry delivery experience.
• Experience with AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, LLM evaluation, or observability tooling.
• Consulting, solutions engineering, professional services, or embedded client experience.
