Payroll Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite at the headquarters in Redondo Beach, California, or Cypress, California, United States.

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Manage accurate, timely end-to-end payroll processing for a rapidly growing workforce.
• Own timekeeping administration, including overtime, double time, meal and rest periods, missed punches, shift differentials, and other hourly pay practices.
• Manage payroll tax filings, reconciliations, W-2 preparation, wage statements, deductions, garnishments, and year-end activities.
• Review payroll inputs and records, investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop payroll procedures, controls, audit practices, reports, and escalation protocols.
• Support payroll and timekeeping system implementations, integrations, testing, upgrades, and configuration changes, including Rippling initiatives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Experience administering payroll for a substantial non-exempt or hourly workforce.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll taxes and California wage-and-hour requirements for non-exempt employees.
• Expertise in timekeeping, overtime, meal and rest period compliance, regular-rate calculations, final pay, deductions, payroll records, and wage statements.
• Proficiency with a major payroll or HRIS platform and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Rippling payroll and timekeeping.
• Payroll experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or another operational environment with a substantial hourly workforce.
• Experience with payroll audits, wage-and-hour reviews, system implementations, integrations, or process redesign.
• Experience building scalable payroll procedures, controls, reporting, and manager education programs.
