Payroll Manager (MedTech)

Salary: $150,000–$160,000 USD per year

hirify.global is a medical technology company developing a point-of-care EEG platform for rapid seizure detection and the management of serious neurological conditions in acute-care settings.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end payroll operations for U.S. employees, including semi-monthly and special payrolls.
• Oversee payroll processing for equity compensation and commissions in partnership with Stock Administration, Accounting, Legal, and HR.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, SOX controls, segregation of duties, and internal policies.
• Manage payroll system configurations and collaborate with HRIS and IT on enhancements and implementations.
• Prepare payroll journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, and help oversee the Travel & Expense process.
• Lead payroll audits, provide documentation, and mentor payroll staff through performance reviews and development.

Requirements

• 7+ years of payroll experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of California and multi-state payroll laws.
• Experience with SOX requirements, public-company audits, payroll accounting, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Experience managing payroll for equity compensation and commissions.
• Expertise with payroll systems such as Paylocity or ADP and equity platforms such as Fidelity.
• Experience with larger ERP systems such as NetSuite, advanced Excel skills, data analysis capabilities, and strong leadership and communication skills.
