Director, Technology Business Operations (AI)

Location: Hybrid, San Francisco, California, United States. Candidates residing in Alaska, Delaware, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Dakota, West Virginia, or Wisconsin are not considered.

Salary: $164,900–$236,000 annual base salary, depending on US region, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.

What you will do

• Build and lead IT's strategic planning, prioritization, and financial governance function.
• Establish annual planning, multi-year technology planning, business cases, and investment narratives.
• Create a transparent governance model for IT priorities, portfolio decisions, and technology value.
• Partner with FP&A on cost centers, forecasts, contractor and FTE spend, application ownership, and consolidated IT spend reporting.
• Manage procurement, contracts, renewals, contractor administration, SOWs, and workforce operations across multiple countries.
• Run IT's executive operating cadence, including all-hands meetings, monthly updates, quarterly roadmap reviews, and business reviews.

Requirements

• 12+ years of IT experience, including 4+ years leading IT strategy in a fast-growing company.
• Experience with Technology Business Management or a comparable operating model for spend, portfolio, and value governance.
• Experience partnering with FP&A, Procurement and Legal, Enterprise Architecture, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Exceptional executive-level communication and experience presenting departmental strategy and performance.
• Ability to build strategic planning, financial, and governance processes from scratch while managing a small team.
• Daily use of LLM assistants or agents for research, drafting, analysis, and problem-solving, with verification of outputs.
