FCAW Welding Instructor / Trainer (Manufacturing)

Location: South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States; onsite, 1st shift from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Relocation assistance is available. Work authorization sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $81,370–$122,060 per year

What you will do

• Deliver hands-on FCAW training for new hires and current employees, covering production welding techniques and quality standards.
• Assess welding skills, identify gaps, and create targeted training plans.
• Evaluate weld quality and defects, providing coaching and corrective guidance.
• Partner with lead welders, supervisors, operations leadership, and Talent Acquisition to align training with production needs and support hiring decisions.
• Refine training programs, evaluation methods, and processes through continuous improvement.
• Track training progress and maintain accurate operational records.

Requirements

• Hands-on FCAW training experience and strong practical welding expertise.
• Experience teaching, training, mentoring, or developing welders in an industrial, educational, apprenticeship, military, union, or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to assess training needs, identify skill gaps, and develop practical training solutions.
• Ability to evaluate training effectiveness using metrics, tools, and feedback.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills with operations, leadership, and HR partners.
• Ability to work onsite in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on the 1st shift.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Welding Educator or similar training credentials.
• Experience evaluating weld tests and coaching individuals through skill development.
• Experience creating training materials, lesson plans, or qualification programs.
