Corporate Finance & Strategy, Strategic Transactions (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid policy requires staff to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office time.

Annual salary: $190,000–$240,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead financial due diligence for M&A and other strategic transactions, assessing historical performance, forecasts, assumptions, and deal risks.
• Build acquisition models and pro forma forecasts, evaluate deal economics, and analyze structuring options.
• Partner with Corporate Development, Accounting, R&D, People, and business sponsors throughout the transaction and post-close integration process.
• Translate transaction impacts into Anthropic’s financial forecast and plan, and present recommendations to Finance leadership.
• Build repeatable templates, playbooks, and processes while using Claude to improve the rigor and efficiency of transaction work.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in M&A-related roles across investment banking, private equity, growth equity, venture capital, corporate development, or strategic finance.
• Hands-on experience building acquisition models and pro forma forecasts from scratch, including understanding how transactions flow through all three financial statements.
• Strong collaboration, proactive communication, and experience presenting to Finance leadership.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and a track record of building processes, templates, and playbooks.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and experience in a relevant field.
• Work from an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time in the San Francisco, CA location.

Nice to have

• MBA, CFA, or CPA.
• Experience on both the investing or advisory and operating sides of transactions.
• M&A experience at a public company and familiarity with downstream reporting impacts.
• Experience using Claude or similar AI tools to improve work quality and efficiency.
