Project Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; primarily office-based or hybrid. Occasional travel to customer or field locations may be required, including potentially hazardous project sites.

What you will do

• Manage project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, and activities across the product lifecycle.
• Provide technical oversight to multidisciplinary project teams and support alignment with project objectives.
• Prepare technical review artifacts for PDRs, CDRs, TIMs, and weekly IPT reviews.
• Coordinate technical inputs and execution for the Mission Systems COMMS IPT across related teams.
• Interface with external customers, prepare status reports, and develop issue-resolution and contingency plans.
• Identify process improvements and implement project management best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 10+ years of engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and practice.
• Experience in multidisciplinary design and development teams, requirements management, system design, and integration.
• Current or active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and U.S. citizenship are required.
• Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment, use a computer for extended periods, occasionally lift up to 10 pounds, and visit potentially hazardous project sites.

Nice to have

• Leadership or project management experience, advanced project management methodologies, and EVMS Control Account Manager experience.
• Experience with project estimates, technical proposals, cost and schedule management, baseline definition, trade studies, and analysis of alternatives.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions, and test procedures.
• INCOSE experience or certification and a background in aerospace and defense.
