Senior Aerospace Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles Air Force Base, California; in-person/hybrid and not remote. Occasional travel of approximately 10% may be required. U.S. citizenship is required.

Salary: $120,000+ annually, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Provide senior-level systems engineering and technical advisory support across the full acquisition lifecycle.
• Develop, decompose, validate, verify, and maintain requirements, technical baselines, interfaces, and configuration control.
• Lead systems-of-systems engineering and integration across space, ground, launch, communications, and mission-support segments.
• Support MBSE, Digital Engineering, mission-thread analysis, architecture development, and assessment of system performance, risks, dependencies, and readiness.
• Support launch integration, early orbit operations, on-orbit checkout, operational readiness, and transition to sustainment.
• Prepare technical assessments, executive briefings, acquisition documentation, risk analyses, and corrective-action plans while coordinating with government, contractor, operational, and industry stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant aerospace, space systems, defense acquisition, or systems engineering experience.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense or Space Force acquisition programs and working with space systems, missile warning, missile tracking, missile defense, satellite systems, ground systems, or mission operations.
• Experience with requirements management, technical baseline management, systems integration, verification and validation, and risk management.
• Knowledge of the DoD acquisition lifecycle and applicable policies, processes, and standards, with strong technical writing, briefing, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Active Top Secret clearance is specified; the qualifications also reference an active DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one. U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or technical field.
• Experience with SSC, Missile Warning, OPIR, SBIRS, FORGE, launch integration, on-orbit operations, ground segment integration, sensor fusion, or TCPED processes.
• Familiarity with MBSE, Digital Engineering, Agile development, DevSecOps, and model-based mission assurance.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and knowledge of relevant DoD, Air Force, space safety, acquisition, cybersecurity, and systems engineering standards.
